Verdict
Kongregate built an early reputation on badges and community chat, and those features still give its catalogue some structure. It is quieter than it once was, but fans of idle games will still find plenty to explore.
Best for: Idle and incremental browser games
What works
- Badge system adds goals across many games
- Well known for idle and incremental titles
- Long archive of community uploads
What to weigh up
- Fewer new uploads than in its earlier years
- Some legacy games are no longer playable
