Download store

Epic's PC storefront, best known for its regular free game giveaways.

Verdict

The Epic Games Store is an easy addition to any PC setup thanks to its free giveaway schedule, which steadily builds a library at no cost. It is less feature-rich as a social platform, so most players use it alongside another store rather than instead of one.

Best for: Collecting free weekly titles

What works

  • Rotating free games that stay in the library once claimed
  • Hosts Epic's own titles such as Fortnite
  • Straightforward refund policy for most purchases

What to weigh up

  • Launcher has fewer community features than older rivals
  • No native Linux client
