How we rate

Ten resorts read from the bed outwards — view, sound and the walk to breakfast.

1. List — gather resort hotels in Singapore and Macau, including ones with adult gaming halls on site.
2. Read — arrival, bedroom, night-time quiet, breakfast and the streets nearby, from public guest notes.
3. Order — rank by the night you will sleep; gaming floors count for nothing.
4. Refresh — revisit an entry when a tower is refitted or a brand changes.
